A Verizon employee managed to escape and call 911 after a man went into the store Wednesday morning with a handgun and bound her hands and feet before getting away with several cellphones, police said.

Officers responded to the armed robbery call on Marietta Highway in Canton at 10:30 a.m.

The suspect left the scene with the stolen merchandise before the female employee could escape. He wore a pink bandana, sunglasses and a black hat to cover his face, police said.

The suspect got away with “a good amount of cellphones,” according to Officer Pacer Cordry, although police are not sure how much exactly was stolen.

Police believe the man escaped in a silver 2016-2018 Nissan Sentra, as seen in the video.

The employee did not have any injuries, according to police.
