Gwinnett County police are investigating after a man was shot to death inside a room at a Peachtree Corners hotel Sunday morning.

Quantez Williams, 41, of College Park, was found shot in a room at the Hometowne Suites on Jimmy Carter Boulevard shortly before 8 a.m., according to Gwinnett police. He later died of his injuries.

Investigators believe two other men who had originally been staying in the room called a woman to come and see them, police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said. At some point early Sunday morning, that woman called Williams to come over, and he arrived with a second woman, Pihera said.

An argument broke out after Williams arrived, and one of the two original residents shot him, police said. The two residents then ran away, according to Pihera.

“The exact motive for the crime is still unknown,” Pihera said. “Investigators would like to speak with any other residents or passersby who may have heard or seen the crime.”

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300.
