South Carolina’s governor announced his order to close all “nonessential” businesses as another way to fight coronavirus across the state.

Gov. Henry McMaster announced the order Tuesday afternoon at a 4 p.m. press conference, according to ABC15 News.

The nonessential businesses will include places like physical therapy offices, spas, barbershops and hair salons and many other areas where people gather, according to the official. The mandate will not apply to grocery stores and pharmacies.

A full list will be available when the order is sent from the Governor's office. The order will go into effect on April 1. Last week, several state governors, including in Illinois, Michigan and Indiana, opted to put similar mandates in place across their respective states. Currently, South Carolina has more than 1,000 cases of coronavirus and at least 22 people have died from the virus.
