An explosion in a Cobb County house Sunday afternoon injured two men, officials said.

The men were doing repair work in the crawl space of a home in the 800 block of Powers Ferry Road, Cobb fire spokesman Dan Dupree said. They suffered minor to moderate flash burns and were taken to the hospital, Dupree said.

He said the explosion was assumed to be caused by natural gas.

Cobb fire said Monday that the cause was classified as accidental, but did not provide additional details.

The home had heavy structural damage following the explosion and is not able to be occupied.

It is not known whether the residents of the house were home at the time.
