A prisoner at the Atlanta Transitional Center is on the loose after going to his job and failing to return Monday, authorities said.

William Henry Strozier, born in 1962, is serving time for burglary and theft in Coweta and Troup counties, according to Georgia Department of Corrections records. It is his ninth stint in a Georgia prison since 1983.

He was set to finish his prison sentence in October 2021, records show.

His specific place of employment was not provided, but it is within Atlanta.

The Atlanta Transitional Center, which is located at 332 Ponce de Leon Avenue, aims to prepare felons who are nearing the end of their sentence to reintegrate into society. That often includes on-the-job and vocational training.

Anyone who spots Strozier is urged to not approach him. Instead, the GDC said to call 478-992-5111.
