I-20 in DeKalb reopens after ambulance catches on fire

An ambulance engulfed in flames and spewing smoke on I-20 East in DeKalb County caused heavy delays for hours Friday afternoon, according to the WSB 24-Hour Traffic Center.

The incident occurred near Glenwood Avenue around 2:30 p.m., the Traffic Center reported. At least one Georgia State Patrol vehicle and an additional ambulance were on the scene.

No information has been released about how the vehicle caught on fire or whether there are injuries.

All lanes were reopened by 4:15 p.m., according to the Traffic Center.
