Two men died Wednesday morning after they were shot at a northwest Atlanta recording studio, according to police.

Officers responded to the shooting in the 2600 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway about 2 a.m., Atlanta police spokeswoman Marla Jean Rooker told AJC.com.

One of the victims was found inside the building with a gunshot wound to the back, she said. The man, later identified as 31-year-old Gary Turner, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim, 39-year-old Cepada Hilton, was shot in the shoulder and buttocks, Rooker said. He later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Hilton’s sister, Keisha Biffle, told Channel 2 Action News that her brother was an aspiring rapper.

“I have absolutely no clue what happened,” she said. “It’s just really hard to believe that he’s gone.”

Officers found “numerous” shell casings in the area, leading police to believe there was more than one shooter. Investigators also recovered cash, a weapon and other items from the scene.

Police taped off the area for the investigation.

The incident comes one week after a man was shot and killed in the same block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway.

Kortez Harris, 21, died at Grady last Wednesday after he was shot behind a building in the area, according to an Atlanta police report.

No arrests have been made in connection with Harris’ death. Atlanta police said it is too early to determine if the two incidents are related.
