Two Cobb County teenagers have been charged with murder after a weekend fight ended in deadly gunfire, according to arrest warrants released Tuesday.

But investigators don’t believe either of the two is the person who fired a rifle, leaving one dead, according to police. That suspect is not in custody.

On Sunday around 4 p.m., Jonathan Santos Fernandez, 17, and Justin Flores Allende, 15, went to Starling Place in Mableton with a plan to fight, according to police.

“Said accused and co-defendant did engage in (a) physical altercation with said victim Pablo Gomez and Edgar Villatoro,” arrest warrants state.

A third suspect fired multiple shots at Gomez, who was struck as he tried to run away, according to police. Gomez died from his injuries. No further details about the shooting were released.

Fernandez and Allende were arrested early Tuesday. Both have been charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault, Cobb jail records show. The two, who both live in Mableton, were being held without bond late Tuesday.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
