A boy was hit Wednesday afternoon by a silver SUV at the intersection of Floyd Road and the East-West Connector in south Cobb County.

The child was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. His condition was not available.

Cobb police spokesman Michael Bowman said Thursday that the boy was not in a crosswalk when he attempted to cross the street, and the driver of the vehicle that hit him is not expected to be charged.

Bowman said he could not release the boy’s name or age because he is a juvenile.
