The boil water advisory for several East Point neighborhoods and businesses was lifted Monday after a water main break over the weekend caused service issues and low water pressure, city officials said.

The 12-inch main broke along Welcome All Road about 10 a.m. Saturday, city spokeswoman Shannon Wiggins told AJC.com. As a result, a boil advisory was issued for customers along Camp Creek Parkway, Welcome All Road, Old Fairburn Road and Ben Hill Road.

The break was repaired by Sunday morning and water service was restored to customers in the affected areas, Wiggins said. However, the boil water advisory remained in effect until Monday.

“The sampling confirmed that there was no contamination of the public drinking water system,” Wiggins said Monday. “Water may be used for all purposes without boiling.”
