Letitia Wright, a popular actor who starred in “Black Panther,” has been publicly ridiculed for sharing a video that appeared to cast doubt about vaccinations, specifically the potential COVID-19 vaccine.
The Guyanese actor tweeted out a video Thursday from the YouTube channel “On the Table.” The footage shows host Tomi Arayomi disputing the validity of vaccinations, including the one in the works for the coronavirus. Wright included the prayer hands emoji with her tweet, which has now been deleted.
Twitter users were not pleased with her insinuation, and they expressed their disdain by sending numerous replies to the now-deleted tweet. She removed the tweet but later admonished her critics as being victims of group think.
“If you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself....you get cancelled,” the 27-year-old tweeted late Thursday.

Her second tweet got lots of attention from fans and social media users. She also received backlash from some notable actors and writers, including Roxane Gay.
Thinking for yourself doesn’t mean you’re right. And you aren’t cancelled. But damn. Promoting anti-vaccine propaganda and shrouding it in intellectual curiosity is asinine. And dangerous.

Her “Avengers: End Game” costar Don Cheadle simply tweeted back “bye, letitia...”
Cheadle later deleted that tweet and explained that he was simply “jabbing at her for her tweet rhyming letitia with felicia.”
Some folks applauded Wright for questioning the vaccine.

There’s a legitimate reason to have doubts! Not to mention how they are targeting certain sectors. It’s a no for me! pic.twitter.com/Qc4PMEPJUR

Others on Twitter were not as understanding.
It is hard to overstate the contributions of medicine and vaccines to the quality of modern life. Soon, anti-vaxxers will be hard at work fighting the Covid vaccines. This is a shame. Will some people get serious reactions to the vaccine? Yes, no doubt. But the good will prevail.

Ur “opinion” is rooted in nothing but religious dogma. You don’t need to “conform” to anything but when you share widely debunked and potentially harmful rhetoric you will be called out on it. Instead of engaging in conversation you cry about being “cancelled.” You’re almost 30.

"popular opinions" you mean scientific evidence?
