‘Black Panther’ star says she’s being ‘cancelled’ for her anti-vaccine tweet

Letitia Wright has faced criticism for insinuating she doesn’t trust the COVID-19 vaccine

Letitia Wright took to Twitter to post a video that makes unsubstantiated claims about COVID-19 vaccines.

Letitia Wright, a popular actor who starred in “Black Panther,” has been publicly ridiculed for sharing a video that appeared to cast doubt about vaccinations, specifically the potential COVID-19 vaccine.

The Guyanese actor tweeted out a video Thursday from the YouTube channel “On the Table.” The footage shows host Tomi Arayomi disputing the validity of vaccinations, including the one in the works for the coronavirus. Wright included the prayer hands emoji with her tweet, which has now been deleted.

Twitter users were not pleased with her insinuation, and they expressed their disdain by sending numerous replies to the now-deleted tweet. She removed the tweet but later admonished her critics as being victims of group think.

“If you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself....you get cancelled,” the 27-year-old tweeted late Thursday.

Her second tweet got lots of attention from fans and social media users. She also received backlash from some notable actors and writers, including Roxane Gay.

Her “Avengers: End Game” costar Don Cheadle simply tweeted back “bye, letitia...”

Cheadle later deleted that tweet and explained that he was simply “jabbing at her for her tweet rhyming letitia with felicia.”

Some folks applauded Wright for questioning the vaccine.

Others on Twitter were not as understanding.
