State School Superintendent John Barge and others were at Tritt Elementary School this week to celebrate the east Cobb County school’s naming as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award. Eight schools in state, including Tritt, received the award, which honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools that have very high levels of student performance or show significant improvements. Tritt was recognized as an “exemplary high performing” school. Tritt will officially receive the award during a ceremony on Nov. 19 in Washington, D.C. The award’s ceremony will be attended by principal Karen Frost and Teacher of the Year Jennifer Dino.
