Raise your glass and make a toast to Avondale Estates, which was named the country’s best small-town beer scene by USA Today readers.

The newspaper’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the American craft beer scene were announced Friday, and Avondale Estates was among two cities to receive honors. Avondale Estates, with a population of roughly 3,000 people bested 19 other small towns, while Tucker Brewing Company was named the fourth best beer garden in the U.S.

“Voters overwhelmingly supported Avondale Estates, which never slipped out of the number-one spot during voting,” the city said in a news release celebrating its victory.

Avondale Estates is home to breweries such as The Lost Druid and Wild Heaven, and another brewery, Little Cottage Brewery, is set to open in the city later this year. In the news release, the city also touted its impressive stock of craft beer halls, restaurants and bars that serve local brews. Another brewery, Three Taverns, is just down the road in Decatur.

Here is 10Best’s description of the city’s thriving beer scene:

“The charming town of Avondale Estates, just east of Decatur, has a small downtown area packed with unique food and beverage offerings. For beer lovers, there’s Wild Heaven Beer, The Lost Druid Brewery, The Beer Growler & Pint Haus and (soon) Little Cottage Brewery.”
