Fayette County authorities are looking for the 19-year-old man suspected of being the driver of a car that wrecked Monday night, injuring several young people.
The wreck happened about 9:45 p.m. on Pine Knott Road east of Tyrone. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found three injured passengers ranging in age from 16 to 20 years old, Fayette County Sheriff Barry H. Babb said in a news release.
“The suspected driver, Hunter Ross Cooper of Fayetteville, fled the scene with an injured female passenger,” Babb said. “Deputies later found the injured passenger on Buckeye Road and she was transported to the hospital for treatment.”
Babb said alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash.
The conditions of the injured passengers were not available early Tuesday afternoon.
