The man who died Wednesday on the Downtown Connector after being hit by two cars was identified as 39-year-old Marco Jackson of Macon, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said Thursday.

Jackson was initially struck by a Hyundai as he crossed several southbound lanes of the interstate near the Courtland Street exit, according to Georgia State Patrol troopers. The impact of that initial collision sent the man into another lane where he was hit by a Lincoln Town Car, troopers said.

Four of the connector’s six lanes, including the HOV lane, were blocked for hours.
