Authorities have identified a man and woman shot to death Wednesday afternoon in northwest Atlanta, while the alleged gunman remained on the loose hours later, according to police.

The shootings happened around 4:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Holly Street, off Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, according to Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a male and female both dead from multiple gunshot wounds, Chafee said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office early Thursday identified the victims as Shonenneshia Tucker, 20, and Derrick Pitts, 28, both of Atlanta.

Investigators believe the shootings followed domestic dispute between Tucker and the suspect, whose identity was unknown, Chafee said.

“At this time, investigators are working to confirm the identity of the suspect and locate him,” Chafee said Wednesday night.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 28 years old, with a thin build and left the scene without a shirt, according to police.

Anyone with information on the shooting deaths is asked to contact investigators at 404-546-4235 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
