Two Atlanta men have been arrested on drug trafficking charges and are suspected of being major suppliers in northeast Georgia, investigators said Friday.

Jose Bibiano-Gonzaga, 26, and Francisco Gerardo, 27, are being held in the Banks County Jail on trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine, the county’s sheriff’s office said.

The men are believed to have been major suppliers to that area of the state, the sheriff’s office said.

A drug operation in the Baldwin area netted more than three pounds of methamphetamine, almost a quarter-pound of cocaine, and $631 cash, the sheriff’s office said.

Bibiano-Gonzaga and Gerardo were arrested Aug. 6. But due to the ongoing investigation, details were not released until Friday, the sheriff’s office said.

The Mountain Judicial Circuit Narcotics Criminal Investigation and Suppression team assisted with the investigation.
