Authorities also filed charges against Willie James Rhodes, 45, including murder in the second degree and cruelty to children in the second degree. Investigators have not located Rhodes to formally deliver the charges.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 200 block of Lovett Road on Nov. 13, 2019, after a report of a deceased child. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Joshua’s body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed the child’s death was caused by homicide because the toddler body’s showed signs of severe injuries.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office has requested the public’s help in locating Rhodes. Anyone with information about this investigation or Rhodes’ whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 229-776-8211 or the GBI at 229-777-2080.
