After tying employees’ hands behind their back, an armed robber grabbed a set of keys and helped himself to $300,000 worth of jewelry Wednesday morning in Atlantic Station.
But the robber’s actions were caught on surveillance cameras, and police hope someone recognizes the person responsible.
According to police, the man entered the Kay Jewelers in the 1300 block of Atlantic Drive around 10:45 a.m. and asked where the engagement rings were.
“The male then produced a handgun and ordered the employees onto the floor,” Officer John Chafee said in an emailed statement Thursday night. “He bound their hands behind their backs and advised them that this would be over soon and told them not to try anything stupid.”
Officers searched the area for the suspect, but were not able to locate him, Chafee said.
