The drizzle-filled weather made a mess of metro Atlanta roads Thursday. But the forecast includes drier weather, at least for Friday.

Showers should diminish Thursday evening and sunshine is on the way, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley. Check today's full weather report and track changes.

Thursday’s high temperature reached the lower 70s, but overnight temperatures could dip into the 40s in the outer suburbs, Chandley said.

Atlanta’s normal high for mid-October is 72, the normal low 54.

Showers could return Saturday, when there is a 30 percent chance of rain.
