The Atlanta Police Special Victim’s Unit has released a sketch related to the investigation of a man who ordered a 12-year-old girl to get into his vehicle on March 4.

The girl was waiting at a bus stop around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Jonesboro and Constitution roads in southeast Atlanta when the suspect pulled up and demanded she get in his white truck, police said.

She refused and began to walk away. The driver exited the truck and again told her to get inside. The girl then ran away and the driver drove off.

The suspect is described as a thin, white man, approximately 60 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, with blue eyes, brown and gray hair, and a gray goatee or beard.

Police said the case does not appear related to attempted abductions in Atlanta last week while girls were walking to Booker T. Washington High School on Monday and Long Middle School on Tuesday, and has not been linked to any other incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
