Atlanta police arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting in July.

Christopher Ballard turned himself in at the Fulton County jail and faces a murder charge, according to a news release from Atlanta police.

Ballard is suspected in the shooting death of Anthony Kirk Hill, 22, in the 1300 block of Lakewood Avenue around 1:40 a.m. on July 12. When officers arrived, Hill was found in the hallway of an office building with a gunshot wound to the head, according to an incident report. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a second, uninjured victim was located nearby and told authorities someone tried to rob him and Hill.

Ballard remains at the detention center without a bond, according to jail records.
