It’s still summertime in metro Atlanta, and we’re getting a reminder of it this week.

For the past several days, we enjoyed highs in the mid to upper 80s, but this week is “going to be marked by building heat,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

It won’t feel like that Monday morning, though. Temperatures are in the 60s and 70s as the sun rises. By the afternoon, temps will top out around 92 degrees in the city.

On Tuesday, the high will be 94, and 96 on Wednesday. That is where we are expected to stay until highs take a dip back into the low 90s for Labor Day weekend.

As for rain, none is in the forecast until later this week. Thursday will mark the return of some isolated thunderstorms that will stick with us through the weekend.
