An Atlanta-based high school debate program will soon have a new executive director.
Kellye Britton, operations and programming director for the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project, took over as the program’s leader on Tuesday.
She will lead the organization during the 2021-2022 school year, serving as its main spokesperson. Brandon Fleming, the group’s founder and CEO, will be on a tour to promote his book “Miseducated: A Memoir.”
The program, which launched in 2017, recruits and trains Black students from around metro Atlanta for a summer debate residency at the Ivy League university. The debaters have made headlines for their success at the summer competitions.
