The personal finance site determined its results by analyzing the 100 largest US cities using 20 metrics including most video game stores, highest internet speed and highest presence of video games. Those sections were filtered into three major categories: gaming environment; internet quality and coverage; and gamer and developer opportunities.

Atlanta was No. 5 on the list. Orlando came in at No. 1 and Seattle at No. 2.
Although ATL placed 48th on the internet quality and coverage list, it dominated in the other sections. It was No. 3 for gaming environment and No. 8 for gamer and developer opportunities.
The Peach City was also No. 5 for the highest percentage of population aged 18 to 49.
According to the study, gaming is a $100 billion industry with nearly a billion players across the globe. In America, revenues are expected to reach $25 billion this year.
The business is so popular that video games sales beat out total movie ticket sales in 2016 by $62.5 billion.
