An Atlanta man was convicted Friday of robbing and murdering his ex-girlfriend in late 2009.

Jurors found 25-year-old Nicholas Wilson guilty on charges of murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, false imprisonment, terroristic threats, and transaction card theft for killing 30-year-old Cassandra James.

On Dec. 14, 2009, a friend became concerned after she called James and an unknown man answered and then quickly hung up. The friend went to James’ apartment where maintenance workers let her inside.

James was found stabbed to death in a bath tub.

Wilson was arrested two days later.

Friday he was sentenced to life plus twenty years in prison.
