Police have arrested one man and are looking for two others suspected in a pair of armed robberies this week on the Georgia Tech campus.
Two students, whose names were not released, were each walking on campus around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when they were approached by a man with a handgun who demanded the students’ belongings, according to Matt Nagel, Tech spokesman.
A male student told campus police he walking southbound on Brittain Drive towards Bobby Dodd Way when he noticed a man walking closely behind him, according to a university alert. The suspect robbed the student at gunpoint before getting into the back of a silver, four-door sedan.
Around the same time, a female student said she was walking eastbound on Bobby Dodd Way, toward Fowler Street, when she was approached by a silver car. A man exited the rear of the vehicle, displayed a silver handgun and demanded her property, according to campus police.
On Thursday, Georgia Tech police arrested Christopher Jamal Exom, 21, of Riverdale, on two felony counts, being a party to a crime and armed robbery.
“We’re working with our law enforcement partners from other agencies to track down the two remaining suspects,” Deputy Chief Rob Connolly said in an emailed statement.
The names of the other two suspects were not released.
