More than three months after a 22-year-old man was shot to death in northwest Atlanta, police Thursday announced an arrest in the case.

Alonzo Ross was arrested Wednesday in connection with the Nov. 2, 2013, shooting death of Sammy Gantt, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said in an emailed statement.

Gantt was found just after 3 a.m. in the 400 block of Norfolk Street with a bullet wound to the chest, police said at the time. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

“At this point in the investigation,” Jones said Thursday, “it appears that the shooting incident is related to a dispute that took place earlier at 1045 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy.”

It is not clear what led to the dispute.

Ross is in the Fulton County Jail on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
