Atlanta police Tuesday were investigating an overnight robbery at a Buckhead mansion in which one of the victims was kidnapped and forced to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The incident happened just after midnight at a multimillion dollar home on Paces Ridge, a short street off Mt. Paran Road in northwest Atlanta.

“The victim stated two gunmen entered their home from an unlocked door,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said. “Once inside, the suspects immediately ran upstairs, where the family was located, and placed some type of towel over their faces.”

After searching the house for an unknown amount of jewelry, one of the suspects “escorted the victim to a bank ATM and forced him to withdraw $200 while the other suspect stayed behind at the house with the family,” Jones said.

After withdrawing the money, the victim, who told police he owns a business that sells gift cards, was brought back to his house and given “verbal instructions to follow,” according to Jones.

The victim told police that the suspects “demanded more money by morning and threatened to harm his family if demands were not met,” Jones said.
