Longtime local broadcast anchorwoman Amanda Davis was found not guilty Friday of driving under the influence more than a year ago.
She was sentenced to 20 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $200 fine, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Davis also was found not guilty of reckless driving. She was found guilty of only one of three charges related to the case: failure to maintain her lane, Channel 2 reported.
Police arrested Davis in November 2012 after a wrong-way accident. She was driving north in a southbound lane of Piedmont Ave. off 14th Street in Midtown when her car hit another car, whose driver said he was injured and later sued Davis.
The investigating officer said Davis smelled of alcohol and told him she had been drinking. She refused to submit to a field sobriety test and state-administered chemical tests, police said.
After the incident Davis, who had been with WAGA for 26 years, was immediately taken off the air. Last April, she retired in an awkward on-air goodbye.
Davis told the judge she would have no problem with community service because she already does it, according to Channel 2. Neither Davis nor her attorney made a comment after the sentencing.
