Dr. Maya Angelou, right, and Cicely Tyson, left, provided an afternoon of literary excellence entitled 'Why Not A Woman!' to celebrate the candidacy of Shirley Franklin for Mayor of Atlanta. The two famous ladies took the stage at EarthLink Live (formerly Center Stage Theatre) as they sat across a small round table and talked, recited poetry and laughed a lot. There were also the serious moments, such as this one when Tyson, using her well-known Jane Pitman voice to recite the poem 'Life For Me Ain't Been No Crystal Stair' by Langston Hughes. (CHARLOTTE B.
