A 71-year-old man who allegedly moved to Vietnam to avoid child molestation charges was arrested Friday at the Atlanta airport, police said.

Doanh Ngoc Vu faces two counts of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation and aggravated battery charges stemming from a 2010 incident, according to Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill.

Vu moved to Vietnam in 2010 after being told he was facing charges, Hill said in an emailed statement. Vu allegedly committed additional offenses of child molestation in Vietnam, according to the sheriff’s office

Vu was extradited back to the U.S. from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He was arrested by the sheriff’s office and the U.S. Marshals Service Friday at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Hill said.

Vu was being held without bond Friday night in the Fulton County jail.
