Four people were killed Monday and as many as eight others injured when a horse and buggy collided with a dump truck in rural Pennsylvania, according to state police.

The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. in Lancaster County, at Little Britain Road and Black Road in East Drumore Township, about 6 miles south of Quarryville, CBS News reported.

A large Amish settlement is in the area, where crashes involving horse-drawn carriages have become common over the years, reports said.

As of late Monday afternoon, authorities had not revealed the circumstances that led to Monday’s accident nor had they identified the dead.

Also, there were no details given about the extent of the injuries or the condition of those who survived, or whether the driver of the dump truck was among them.

Troopers were still investigating the scene and said they would release additional details later in the day, according to CBS.

No charges were announced.

A photographer with CBS affiliate WHP-TV shared photos on social media showing the crash scene in the distance and a tree-lined road that was blocked off by police cones.

A similar crash involving a car and a horse and buggy killed a 10-month-old girl in June; and in August, an Amish teenager died after her buggy was hit by a pickup truck, according to CBS.
