All southbound lanes of I-285 on the west side of town have reopened following a predawn truck fire that closed most of the interstate for hours.

The tractor-trailer caught fire along I-285 between Cascade Road and Langford Parkway about 6 a.m.

The cab and most of the trailer burned. Officials have not said what the truck was hauling.

Authorities had reopened one of the four southbound lanes by 7:30, and the remaining lanes were opened just before 9 a.m.
