Man killed woman as she slept, then himself in Gwinnett home, police say

A man shot and killed a woman and then himself inside a Gwinnett County home, police said Friday.
Officials said they got a call around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday about a person shot at a house in the 600 block of Clearwater Place. The home is in the River Park neighborhood by the Yellow River. The community is near the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and Sugarloaf Parkway just outside Lawrenceville.
Embrey Watson, 51, shot and killed Rachel Free, 39, while she was asleep, Gwinnett police said Friday. Watson then killed himself, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found the man and woman dead in a bedroom with gunshot wounds, police said. A firearm was found at the scene.
No details were released about the relationship between the two.
The investigation is ongoing and pending the results of autopsies, police said.
