Two Clayton County men have been indicted on multiple charges related to sex crimes against children, officials said Tuesday.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced the indictments, which were handed down by a grand jury earlier in the day. Theodore Thomas Browne and Christopher Darren Weldon each face multiple charges, including human trafficking, aggravated child molestation, statutory rape and cruelty to children.

The two men each face life sentences, with a maximum of 120 years in prison for Browne and 80 years in prison for Weldon.

The trafficking charges against Browne include one count of enticing a person under the age of 18 for sexual servitude, two counts of transporting that person and two counts of harboring and providing the victim for sexual servitude, Carr said. Browne was also charged with aggravated child molestation and cruelty to children.

Weldon is charged with one count of trafficking and accused of harboring and providing an underage victim for sexual servitude, according to Carr. Weldon, 34, is also charged with aggravated child molestation and statutory rape.

“We will not hesitate to defend the children of our state and thank the Clayton County Grand Jury for their careful consideration of the evidence in this case,” Carr said in a press statement. “Our Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit looks forward to presenting our case in court. We hope to send a strong message that those who exploit and abuse our children will be aggressively prosecuted.”
