AJC Peachtree Road Race runners might not need to wake up quite so early July Fourth.

For the first time, the Atlanta Track Club has announced staggered start times for runners in the 10K.

Track club executive director Tracey Russell said they've long done staggered starts, but by informing all 55,000 runners of their start times, they'll lighten the morning crowd and keep later groups from long, hot waits before getting to the starting line.

Participants should still arrive about an hour before their group is to begin running, she said. Track Club officials said runners arriving later should get off MARTA at the Lenox station on the Northeast-South line.

Runners will learn their time group when they receive their race numbers and timing tags. Packets will be sent through the U.S. Postal Service this week, and runners should begin to receive them within two weeks.

Here are the staggered start times for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race:

7:30 a.m.: Top-seeded, sub-seeded, time group 1A, time group 1B

7:36 a.m.: Time group 2

7:47 a.m.: Time group 3

7:59 a.m.: Time group 4

8:11 a.m.: Time group 5

8:22 a.m.: Time group 6

8:33 a.m.: Time group 7

8:44 a.m.: Time group 8

8:56 a.m.: Time group 9
