Clayton County Public Schools, which has faced accreditation issues and other challenges, said this time it’s not at fault.
On Saturday, 100 students came to Lovejoy High School in Lovejoy prepared to take the ACT test. Only no one showed up to administer it.
“While officials with the School System deeply regret this incident, it is important for you to know that the College Board administers the test,” Clayton interim superintendent Luvenia Jackson said in a statement Sunday afternoon.
Well, not exactly. The College Board administers the SATs while the ACT test, a college readiness assessment, is handled by ACT Inc.
Nonetheless, Jackson said that the school system, which only provides sites for test administration, plans to get to the bottom of the snafu and to reschedule the ACT test as soon as possible.
“We believe that the students and parents who were present to take the test are entitled to an explanation,” Jackson said.
