A man was killed and a suspect was detained after a shooting Thursday morning at a Doraville home.

Doraville police were called to the home in the 2000 block of Beechwood Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. and discovered a 43-year-old man dead, according to police spokesman Gene Callaway.

“A male suspect was detained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators,” Callaway said. “So far the investigation has revealed that the deceased male and the male suspect knew each other.”

The names of the victim and the suspect were not released. It was unknown if the suspect would face charges.

Callaway said there were no threats to the public.
