A 1,000-foot water slide is coming to Decatur this July for one day only.
Ticket info is forthcoming, but the event is scheduled for July 25. It's a way to "shake up" the annual Decatur Beach Party, the city said in a blog post Tuesday.
The slide will stretch down W. Ponce de Leon Avenue, from Clairemont Avenue to Ponce de Leon Place.
The event is put on by Slide the City, and has been held at many cities around the country, including Detroit and Fort Worth.
The event will be held in celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the Decatur Business Association, according to the post.
