Farmer succeeded by Carnell after 40 years at HCWA

Nov 12, 2021Henry County Water Authority general manager Lindy Farmer is stepping down at the end of next month after 40 years leading the utility.
At a recent special called meeting, the HCWA board named deputy manager Tony Carnell to take over Jan. 1, 2022 as Farmer’s successor.
Farmer came on board in 1982 to lead the authority, which marks its 60th anniversary this year. Carnell, a Henry County native and product of its public schools, has been with the HCWA for 27 years in various engineering and supervisory roles and has been deputy manager since 2014. He is the first black to lead the authority in its history. Information: hcwa.com.
