Voters in Stonecrest can watch a virtual forum of candidates running for the City Council who will answer questions about their plans for the young city’s future.

Three of the five council seats are up for election on Nov. 2, and councilmembers must be prepared to take on challenges posed by several financial scandals and a recently revised city charter.

The forum is sponsored by the DeKalb Cultural Exchange and is hosted by Councilman Rob Turner, who is not up for reelection, and his wife Vickie Turner. The moderator will be Zachary Hansen, reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Three candidates, including the incumbent, qualified for the District 1 seat currently held by Jimmy Clanton Jr. Three candidates, including the incumbent, qualified for the District 3 seat currently held by Jazzmin Cobble. Three candidates, including the incumbent, qualified for the District 5 seat currently held by Tammy L. Grimes.

The forum will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 and will be streamed live online at Rob Turner for Councilman’s Facebook page or on Zoom.
