Dunwoody judges won’t hear any cases this week.

The city canceled its municipal court sessions for the first week of 2022 as a precaution amid the surge in COVID-19 cases statewide. The sessions initially scheduled for Jan. 5 and 6 will be rescheduled, and notices with new court dates and times have been mailed.

Dunwoody spokeswoman Jennifer Boettcher told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the cancellations are precautionary and not the result of municipal court employees testing positive for the virus.

Due to the uptick of COVID cases statewide and in the city, Dunwoody Municipal Court sessions will be canceled on Jan. 5...

Dunwoody isn’t the only DeKalb County city that changed how it’s conducting services this week due to COVID-19. Avondale Estates closed its City Hall through Jan. 14 to “mitigate exposure” to the virus after multiple city employees tested positive.

The Dunwoody Municipal Courthouse, located at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road, will remain open to the public this week, but no sessions will take place until Jan. 10. For more information, visit dunwoodyga.gov/government/departments/court.
