The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta is seeking nominations for the first “40 Under 40 Georgia Muslims” awards, recognizing individuals for their impact in the community.

“It’s an opportunity to raise awareness about the contributions of Muslims in Georgia on many different fronts and to provide role models to others,” said Soumaya Khalifa, founder and executive director of the Islamic Speakers Bureau, which seeks to build bridges between Muslims and the wider community.

The deadline for nominations is May 1. Entry forms can be found here. The awards are open to Muslims who are under 40 years of age as of Dec. 31 and either live or work in Georgia or are from the state.

Those who were included in the organization’s “100 Influential Georgia Muslims” awards program are not eligible.
