Does your heart bleed for local art? You can head to Little Five Points this week for an open house featuring local makers.

The event is part of Little Five’s ongoing Weird Wednesdays series, which offer different activities throughout the community.

This Wednesday’s event, Bleeding Hearts Art Open House, will bring together about 10 local artists for a tour of the Little Five Points Center for the Arts and Community at 1083 Austin Avenue NE.

The property was first opened as a school in the 1940s, but has been home to more than 20 arts and community groups since the mid-1980s.

This week’s event offers the public a look inside the historic space.

The Bleeding Hearts Art Open House will include performances by Manga African Dance and Gateway Performance Productions.

There will also be live music by WRFG and martial arts demonstrations from Rising Phoenix T’ai Chi.

In addition to the performances, there will be crafts for families to do together, interactive art and refreshments available.
