Atlantans will soon be able to occupy downtown's only outdoor ice rink.

Installation of the ice rink at Centennial Olympic Park began Monday. Park officials said it will take about two weeks to build the 108- by 60-foot rink. The rink should open Nov. 19.

Once open, the seasonal park feature will provide covered observation seating, theatrical lighting and holiday music.

The rink is open daily through Jan. 29, including all holidays.

Admission is $7 per person for 90 minutes. Skate rental is $2. College student and group discounts are available.

The 21-acre park adjacent to the Georgia Aquarium will also feature Holiday in Lights, thousands of lights that make up the annual Atlanta winter tradition, park officials said.
