Typically, it’s Creative Mornings’ mission to bring people together as a community — through its monthly lecture series and “field trips” around town.
But amid the coronavirus outbreak, the nonprofit is finding ways to bring bits of its programming to people via digital platforms.
Later this month, Atlanta artist Shanequa Gay will give a virtual Creative Mornings lecture on “purpose.” But in the meantime, Atlantans can also use the platform to take a whole variety of virtual field trips to learn some new skills, from writing a book to the basics of houseplants.
“We’re experimenting with our first few, online, and community-led gatherings called FieldTrips,” Creative Mornings wrote in an Instagram post. “FieldTrips are hangouts to interact, learn and collaborate in an effort to level-up your creative life.”
The virtual sessions, held on Zoom, are taking place throughout the month of April and feature everything from “Using Meditation to Focus the Creative Mind” and “Side Project Sessions” to “You CAN Draw!”
The sessions are free to register for, but do have caps on attendees. Information on all the sessions and registering can be found here.
