For the sixth year in a row, the luck of the Irish is coming to Avalon on March 13.

"Calling all Lads and Lassies! Enjoy an evening full of live music, dancing, Irish flair, and green beer as we celebrate our sixth annual St. Patrick's Day along the Boulevard," reads the event description.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to see a special Irish performance from King O’Sullivan School of Irish Dance at 5:30 p.m. Luck of Avalon begins at 6 p.m. with a bagpipe and drum performance from North Georgia Pipes and Drums (NoGaPD) on The Plaza stage. Then, the party starts.

High-energy dance and performance band Azz IzZ, who performs everything from Motown to rock to hip hop, turns the Plaza into a dance floor. Plus, the Irish tunes won’t end at the start of the bash. North Georgia Pipes and Drums will be performing in the streets of Avalon until 7 p.m.

NoGaPD formed in 2007 and according to their website, they are musicians "dedicated to excellence." They compete regionally and perform as a group and individuals. Their philosophy is "Good Music, Good Will, Good Fun" and they'll likely provide just that at Luck of Avalon.

As adults enjoy green beer with their music, this event is kid-friendly, too. Face-painting for the whole family — including the “the little leprechauns” — or children — will be conducted until 9 p.m.
