Celebrate Coretta Scott King’s birthday on Wednesday

There’s a birthday party for Coretta Scott King and you’re invited.

All of you.

A reception and program honoring the late civil rights activist and wife of the the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Yolanda D. King Theatre for the Performing Arts, 449 Auburn Ave. N.E.

The event is free and open to the public.

Also, in honor of King’s 89th birthday, the Chipotle Mexican Grill at 718 Ponce de Leon Ave. will donate 50 percent of the evening’s proceeds (from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) to the King Center.
