Your dog can’t have a beer with you, but they can keep you company while you drink.

Why not do that and meet other pups in the process? Even better, it’ll benefit a local animal shelter.

Outrun Brewing Company is hosting its first Barks & Brews dog meetup and market this Sunday. The Stone Mountain brewery is not only serving beer but food for humans and dogs.

Mami’s Empanadas is providing meals for people while canines can enjoy treats from Four-Legged Foodie and Barkuterie Boards. PAWS Atlanta, a no-kill animal shelter and pet rescue, will be on-site as well as Ruff Runners, a dog running service.

“Come see the adoptable pups at the PAWS tent! Plus, 10% of beer sales will be going toward PAWS Atlanta for all their rescue needs. We’re pawsitive you’ll have a good time!” the Facebook event description said.

Outrun Brewing Company isn’t a brewery that takes itself too seriously. The spot, which opened in July 2020, regularly hosts fun events.

Last fall, co-owner Josh Miller wore a Hawaiian-style printed shirt as he prepared for a luau-themed event in celebration of the Princess Papaya Sour Ale.

“We really wanted to do something different here,” he told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in October. “We just want to have fun and make things less intense, and a little less serious, I guess.”
